BIBLE RECORD will follow after a few notations that come to mind.

1… According to the Greene County book Elizabeth Rodgers married Moses Hill in 1817.  She married second Thomas Matlock.  Do we know when and where she married Thomas Matlock?
2… Was Thomas married before he married Elizabeth?  From the Bible record there are 2 children that would give this impression. Failey and John N. were born before the marriage of Elizabeth to Moses; so this would certainly make one think that Thomas was married before.
3… On the 1830 census there are only 2 children and they are both in the 0-5 age range. Which would exclude John and Failey?  Failey could have married before the census. John would have been in his teens. The younger female could be Louisa who was born 1826.
5… The 1840 census records have 3 males between the age of 15 and 30. These males could be James Monroe, William R, and possibly John or the Thomas.
6… Where is Louisa in the 1840 census?  Did she marry at a young age?
7… I have a possible son, which is not listed in the Bible.  It seems that Thomas would have named a son after himself; just keeping with tradition.  I will list him as first son.  If you know where this Thomas really belongs please let me know and I will change this page.  But for now all indications are that he is son of Thomas.

FINAL NOTE:  Even though I used some of this Bible record to put this family together. There are several things that just don’t add up.  The two above children not listed plus the two children where births are just 5 months apart.  Was this an oversight on the person that transcribed the Bible Record.  It makes me question the validity of this Bible record.
