Agent Smith played by Hugo Weaving
In The Matrix, Hugo Weaving plays Agent Smith, an agent of "the matrix". He and the other agents don't actually have bodies, but they jump into the bodies of other people. They seem to have free will, but are basically controlled by the matrix. Agent Smith hates all humans and wants to get out of the matrix at any cost. In the end of The Matrix, Neo killed Agent Smith, but since he is a computer program, he will return.
Hugo Weaving is one of the few stars from The Matrix who are scheduled to star in at least one of the sequels. For more information about the sequels to The Matrix, click here.
