Zimbabwe's population is divided into two main indigenous groups: The Ndebele peoples in the south western part of the country and the Shonas. Among each group, several ethnic sub-groups, based on region and dialect of the Shona or Ndebele languages, exist. For the Ndebele indigenous peoples, the main ethnic groups are Ndebele and Nguni. On the other hand, the Shona ethnic groups are more varied, comprised of VaManyika, VaKaranga, VaZezuru, VaKorekore, VaNdau, VaTonga, VaRozwi and possibly several other sub-ethnic groups.
