Marmalade Boy Best Moments

The following is a list of (what I think are) some of the best moments in the Marmalade Boy anime. They are in no particular order. If you would like to add one of your favorite moments to the list, please see the form at the bottom of this page. Arigato!

Episode #25
The kiss on the beach:
Arguably the best scene in the show, Yuu and Miki FINALLY admit how they feel for eachother, and they share a tender kiss on the beach at sunset (Did you know that MB was the first anime to feature long kisses - and a lot of them?)

Episode #30
Yuu's commercial:
Yuu sure seemed reluctant to talk about the commercial he was in, now Miki and his parents figure out why: He played a woman (and a beautiful Queen at that!) The family's reactions are priceless (The father's admit he must be a drag queen for sure, Miki just keeps rewinding the thing and re-watching it, glad that Yuu isn't playing Suzu's boyfriend) But Ginta's reaction is even better! When the guys at school are talking about the commercial and how cute Suzu is, Ginta admits that the "tall girl" in the commercial is more his type, he gets little hearts in his eyes and everything! This causes Yuu to hit an innocent Ginta (and call him an idiot) who, not knowing the tall girl was acrually Yuu, is left completely confused (and angry, yelling "He hit me and called me an idiot! What did I ever do to him?") Miki and Meiko can't stop laughing.

Episode #22
A special "Moment":
After ditching Miwa and Meiko at the movies, Yuu and Miki go for a walk. Miki blushes as she realizes that they are holding hands, she nervously tries to say something about it and he asks if she has to go to the bathroom. She says no, then says "Hand." He asks "Hand?" then, seeing what she means he asks her if it bothers her. Since it doesn't, they keep it up. Miki sees a cute shop she wants to go into and finds a music box. The song it plays is "Moment" (Miki's character song) She likes the music box so much that Yuu buys it for her. She decides that she will cherish it forever as her first present from Yuu. (He also starts blushing and gets her a whole Kappa family, too!)

Episode #28
The trip:
Miki and Yuu are enjoying a day out, when he starts talking about a trip he wants to take to see some buildings. She quickly says that they should take the trip together, after looking at the buildings they can take in the sights, and if there is a hot springs that will be even better. Yuu points out to Miki what she is suggesting (that the two of them go on a trip together... for the weekend... alone...) She blushes, realizing what he means, then admits that she meant it as a family trip. (It's also nice that she decides to get a part-time job to pay her own way on the trip, go Miki!)

Episode #32
Yuu and Kei's concert:
Miwa convinces Yuu to be the singer in a concert his band is giving at the school festival. Before they go on stage, the keyboard player is injured. Miki suggests that Kei fill in, since he can play the piano. He reluctantly agrees. The song they perform is called "Rain" and it was just really cool! Yuu makes a good lead singer, and Kei surprises everyone with his elaborate inmprovised keyboard solo (Miwa-san isn't bad either)!

Episode #33
Meiko kisses Miwa:
Meiko has asked Satoshi to read her finished book. Even though it is the middle of the night, he comes to her house after reading it and gives the book back to her, asking her once again to be his gilfriend. This time, she accepts and suddenly kisses him (It must have been the concert that made him so irresistible).

Episode #33
Miwa punches Na-chan:
After a fight with Namura-sensei Miwa accidentally ends up hitting Meiko, and Na-chan and Meiko finally realize they need to be together. They kiss on the beach, and Poor Miwa and Ryoko are left heartbroken.

Episode #40
The Christmas Present:
When Ginta and Arimi are at the mall just before Christmas. Ginta can't get up the guts to ask Arimi what she wants for Christmas, so he writes it on her little jet memo. She writes back "kiss kiss kiss" and Ginta goes crimson.

Episode #1 & The Movie
The Infirmary:
Most romantic anime tend to start off kind of slow - but not MB! In the first episode they jump right in! Yuu kisses Miki, while she pretends to be asleep in the infirmary. The wind blows and "Moment" plays in the background! This moment is made even better in the Marmalade Boy movie where the music stops during the kiss, and starts again when it is over - very effective and certainly one of the best moments.

Episode #75
Lost in Manhattan:
When Miki gets chased and caught by those bullys in Manhattan. Yuu comes and saves the day and then they realize what they have to do. It's very cute and it touches you at the same time.
