Quick Tour
Welcome to Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow. MCLB Barstow is a small community on the outskirts of the city of Barstow, CA. It is located about midway between LA and Las Vegas. Because of the moderate number of active duty Marines assigned to this installation there is no need for large fancy facilities as with other Marine Corps Installations.

Located in southern California's High Desert, this installation is warm and toasty. Yep.... very toasty. Pack cool clothes and lots of sunscreen. Do you want a quick tour? Great. Grab your ID card, you'll need it to get in the gate. |
We have a small commissary which provides most of the basic grocery essentials; however, does not always give you the best deal. We've found some things cheaper on the local economy.
Here we have the MCLB Bowling center. The bowling center has six bowling lanes and one pool table. Also in the bowling center is the Information Tours & Travel office where authorized patrons can purchase tickets of nearly every major theme park in Southern California at a reduced rate. Definitely worth a visit. |

And here we have the Marine Corps Exchange. This facility is under renovation for the remodeling of the Seven Day Store (included on the opposite side of the building). Your choices are limited. The staff are hard working and mean well; however, most of the time you will find what your looking for at Wal-Mart. |
Here we have the Enlisted Club. The unique thing about the MCLB Enlisted Club is the fact that it is also the home of the Base Library now known as the Resource Center. |
|
And here we have the Hobby Shops.
This modern building houses the Auto Hobby Shop, Wood Shop and Rock
Shop. Authorized patrons may utilize the facility for a nominal
fee. |

Okay so now you need a break from the kids... or more appropriately they need a break from you. Well let's take a trip to the Child Daycare Center. This facility is in our opinion awesome. The staff of this facility really enjoy working with the children and the children really have a good time. There are almost no waiting lists. Any waiting lists that do exists are normally very short. |
|
The Base Chapel Offers a wide variety of religious services.
Family Housing Area: Built in the 50's this dilapidated housing is managed by some of the most inconsiderate staff I have had the sorry pleasure of ever meeting. I am not alone in this opinion. Anyone who's experienced it can tell you their own horror stories so I won't bother you with mine. Use caution with this crowd.
Family Services Center (FSC). This facility is home to a variety of family services such as counseling and transition assistance. The people here really do care. Seek them out whenever you need help. |
