Ancient Sisters

When we study our British/Scottish ancestors the menfolk recieve the most attention. But let us stop for a moment now and remember womenfolk birthed the children, raised and nourished them, and did most of the healing. In their old age they cherished their friendships. They knew their genealogies by heart. They were sisters of ancient families.

(This isn't really a picture of McNaughton women. It is a photo taken in a Home for the Aged in Norfolk, England. But widows and elderly women in general wore black primarily, so I suppose when our elderly McNaughton women gathered together they didn't look much different from the women in this photo. Hope you like it as much as I do.)
