Queenie - 12 h, bay pony.  Had foundered, mild rotation in right front and severe thrush.  Adopted by one of our rescue volunteers August 2001.  Feet are looking wonderful and no more heat.  She is being used as an occasional lead line pony for a 7 year old girl and getting loads of love, hugs and kisses. Adopted August 2001.
Fancy - 15.3 h, chestnut TBxQH appendix  mare.  Fancy was a real looker, but a very pushy herd mate and an incredibly unpredictable mount.  Her owner donated her to us in hopes we could find her a laid back life as a brood mare.  We normally dont adopt out horses to be brood mares, in fact, its prohibited.  However, because this was at the owners request, and it probably was the best option for Fancy... thats what we did.  She was adopted by Bernie in Maryland and is living out the good life on lush green pastures. Adopted 9/23/01.
Bob Gorski's Bid (aka Sonny) - 15 h, chestnut, TB yearling gelding.  Sonny is a beautiful sweet little boy!  He is a bit club footed in his front right hoof and therefore would not make a good performance horse, but a trail horse galore he will be!  He was adopted by Layn of Maryland, who has become one of our volunteers and is now keeping Sonny with us for training.  Adopted December 2001.
DoubleSpeak (aka Pele) - 15.3 h, Bay, 15 year old TB gelding.  DoubleSpeak is a nicely trained dressage horse.  He had lost sight in his left eye due to uveitis but was very capable of being a wonderful dressage or trail horse for someone.  Just no jumping because he had lost his scope.  He was adopted by Paula in Keymar, MD.  A lovely lady with a huge farm and a big heart! Adopted January 2002.
June and Flash - June (on left) and Flash (on right) are mother and daughter.  Flash, the mom is 11 years old and June is 7.  They were given to my daughter as a gift for her 4th birthday 6 years ago.  They had come from a junk yard type situation.  Flash was foundered.  June developed mild founder while with us.  Our pasture was too rich and they werent used often enough to keep them sound.  About a year ago a very close friend showed interest in June and began coming down regularly to work on breaking her.  We had her riding within the first week.  Because these gals really required additional special attention we could not enforce without seperate pastures/barn at the time, we adopted them out to Tammy, the lady who had become so fond of them.  They are doing very well and are happier than ever! - Adopted December 2001.
Whistle, Gaston & Bella
I am pleased as pie to announce the adoption of these three wonderful horses to the O'Donnell family of Prince Frederick, MD!  Not one, not two, but three horses went to a great family!  We had been searching for over a year for the right home for Bella & Gaston.  Bella will be used lightly as a beginners lesson horse, which she is perfect for.  Gaston will keep her company.  And Whistle, well, he is going to be well educated!  Whistle is going to be the personal riding horse for a certified riding instructor!  We are especially happy that Bella got to take BOTH of her boyfriends with her!!
Adopted June 2002.
WillHe - 15.3 h, Dark Bay, 15 year old TB gelding.  He was donated to SHR by Allison Conrad of the CANTER program. WillHe is one of those horses everyone loves to watch!  He was adopted by Angela Freburger who has been enjoying taking him to local shows and having great success with him!  No one can believe WillHe is 15! Adopted April 2002.
OPEY (aka Sibling Sword)
Opey has been adopted by the best family!!!! Congratulations to Gudrud and Richard Wicart on their newest family member! Gudrun says that Opey settle in just find, and his new pasture mate Shahara is so star struck that she is afraid to blink, for fear Opey may disappear!  Opey isnt too sure about the Emu's just yet, but he'll get there!  Opey will be used as a trail horse. Best wishes!
Adopted October 13,  2002.
PILGRIM
Pilgrim had been with SHR, Inc. since February of 2002.  He had a long recovery from a single event of severe founder, but came out of it with flying colors!  It was very hard for us to give him up!  Please read about his progress with us in
Pilgrims Progress Page. He was adopted by Wanda Jackowski of Harwood, MD, who will be using Pilgrim as a trail horse.  Wanda is a long time horse lover and will provide Pilgrim with the best of care.  Best wishes to Wanda and Pilgrim!  Adopted November 02,  2002.
TOUCHE
Touche has been adopted by Laura & her mom, Michelle McKenna of Clarksburg, MD.  She will be living at SHR, Inc!  She has already restarted her career in Pony Club, although she is an excellent jumper, we found she isnt the best of gaming ponies because of her strong attitude.  We are working on her ground manners.  Touche will live the life of luxury!
Adopted March 2003.
JAZZ
Jazz has been adopted by Teri Bazzarel of Point of Rocks, MD.  She will be going to a trainer for some time to work with Teri in Middletown, MD.  Then off to her new 250 acre home!  We are very happy with Jazz's adoption!  Best wishes Teri!
Adopted April 2003.
