| The Robert V. Setera Scholarship Award is given to a Maryland athlete who is 14 years of age or older, exhibits positive qualities such as character and sportsmanship, dedication to the sport of baton twirling, community service, and academic achievement. Athletes must be nominated by their coach. Nomination forms are available at the parent liaison table at each contest. A summary of not more than two pages explaining the reasons for the athlete's nomination must accompany the nomination form. If you do not have an original nomination form, please write the athlete's name, address, phone number and email address as well as the coach's name and signature, phone number, and email address. (Note: E-mail nomination must originate from the address of the coach to count as coach's signature.) Nominations should be sent to Terry Stewart, 13202 11th St., Bowie, MD 20715 or by email to TSTwirl@aol.com. Nominations must be received by April 4, 2009. Presentation of Scholarship Awards will be at the beginning of the Scholarship contest. |

| Scholarship Award recipient will receive: one free Maryland Baton Council contest entry (excluding MD State) one free local clinic entry $200 to be used for the enrichment of the athlete with regard to the sport of baton twirling traveling plaque engraved with athlete's name and year replacement plaque the following year Top five preliminary winners will receive: special award recognizing their individual achievements one free Maryland Baton Council contest entry (excluding MD State) one free local clinic entry Each nominated athlete will receive: a letter congratulating them on their nomination Robert V.
