In the Capital Region, Rosie comes on at four o'clock--an hour before the five o'clock news. John can often be seen and heard during the show doing news briefs for the upcoming broadcast.

About Our Hero
 * In 1965, while LBJ sat in the White House and Nelson Rockefeller was Governor of New York State, John McLoughlin joined The Troy Record as a reporter. He worked throughout New York for the next seven years before joining Albany, New York's WTEN in 1972. He was hired as a political commentator and a year later became a news reporter. Currently, John is the weekday co-anchor, along with Tracy Egan, of WTEN's news at five. His Mr. MOS (Man on the Street) is a regular feature of that broadcast.

AWARD HIGHLIGHTS:
* 1986, won his first Knight Ridder Excellence award.
* Several Associated Press and Hearst Corp. awards.
* Several awards for writing.
* According to the ABC-10 website,
"After joining WTEN-TV, McLoughlin did a series on the insanity defense that won United Press International national, regional, and state awards, the New York State Broadcasters first-place for documentaries, the American Bar Association award for TV, and first-place statewide Award from the New York State Bar Association."
