Bloody Christmas
The idea arose when a friend mentioned a "themed Christmas" and offered a "horror show" idea. So I went with it... I had purchased this box from AC Moore for a couple of bucks and decided to use it standing up. I stained all the wood that would be showing (using a dark stain which I use throughout the scene).
Bloody Christmas
The wood floor was created using coffee stirrers glued to a piece of cardboard. I made a fireplace using cardboard and added a piece of wood at the top that I had left over. I also created some bricks to the back wall (on a piece of cardboard) from an egg carton.

Bloody Christmas
I bricked the inside of the fireplace, again, from an egg carton...
Bloody Christmas
I painted and grouted the inside bricks, stained the mantel, and painted and grouted the outside. I also bricked the bottom (on another piece of cardboard).

Bloody Christmas
I finished the top - those egg cartons really go a long way - and glued (and grouted) everything together. I added a wood effect on the bottom outside of the fireplace and grouted in the middle area. I also added some "logs" made from cinnamon sticks. Mmm smells like Christmas!

Bloody Christmas

Made: (1) broken glass in puddle of blood (glass from old Christmas tree lights which don't work so I broke one, and blood=paint), (2) bloody hand and foot made from air-dry Crayola Model Magic (clay), painted "Desert Beige" and then added the "blood", (3) broken glass on fireplace from the same Christmas tree light, (4) evil clown from old wooden piece (painted), attached to a bead piece, hair made from a small red "pom pom," tied with a small piece of ribbon and hat made from Model Magic clay and painted. (5) Bear made from a pipe-cleaner, added blood and hung with a piece of sting stained overnight in coffee.

Bloody Christmas
The tree was created over a couple days: The actual tree was purchased at a Dollar Store. The decorations are from small beads on a string, along with a few gold balls. The "blood" was added before, so the decorations are all clean. The wrapped presents are from AC Moore (they came with ties, to add to gifts I think?) - I may end up making my own. The head is from a Craft Store, I really bloodied her up, and I made the knife in her head (which you can't see too well here).

Bloody Christmas

I made this severed man's head, a small skull, along with a snake (that will be a "gift" under the tree), severed "lady fingers" (for the wreath) and eye balls (that will be in a jar).

Bloody Christmas

And here's the wreath! Made from a thick white pipe cleaner and painted "Hunter Green." I made the bow with a small piece of ribbon. The candle was made from wax, with a black string so it looked burned. The "lady fingers" are all made from air-dry Crayola Model Magic. And the little red balls are from painted mustard seeds.

Bloody Christmas

It took several weeks to complete the jar! I'd put one "eye" (made from air-dry clay & some paint) and a little "Crystal Clear" Gallery Glass, and let dry -- it took at least a week each time! And I had 3 eyes in total. I haven't made a top yet, but will soon. It's only in the corner, behind the tree so you only see it from the side.

Bloody Christmas
I made some mini newpapers detailing weeks (and even months?) of city fear caused by the serial killer. And of course he kept each one of them. The hatchet (added red paint) was off an old keychain.

Bloody Christmas
The final scene! I also added knives in the tree and a teddy bear with a knife in its chest. The knives were made with black Fimo (for the handle) and the metal clip used in Alumium foil, and red paint added to each tip.

Bloody Christmas
Added a few bloody and not-bloody "broken glass" pieces. Plus, displayed the skull (make from clay) in the corner.
