Thomas Stephenson aged 29 came Sep 1852 on the Tippoo Saib - too old to be the correct person.

Thomas Stephenson c1831 from Paisley (see letter from David), wed 9 Aug 1853 to Rosanna Mahony, lived at Sandhurst, and became parents of 15 children. See them at David's site. He reports that Rosannah, born about 1833/1835 in Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland, immigrated 30 Aug 1852 - 19 Dec 1852 to Port Philip From Greenock as a Stowaway on the Ship Courier.

I was idly surfing the Internet today and I came across your web-site in which you have claimed Thomas and Rosanna's eldest son Thomas to be the husband of Mary Ann Parish.
I am sorry but I must tell you that this cannot be right because young Thomas drowned in a water hole at Back Creek (Bendigo) on 18 Mar 1856. My primary source is a copy of findings of a Coroner's Inquest that was held the following day. Also you can find this death (ref 1856 / 1641) on the Victorian CDM CD.

I have purchased the birth certificates of many of Thomas and Roseannah's children and on each of these Thomas provided an age that suggested that he was born c.1831. His birthplace as shown on the all of the certificates that I have was Paisley.
