Wigley Research assisted by on Tuesday, 7 October, 2008 Eleanor Greenway came from Cornwall aged 19, with her parents Joseph Greenway 50, Betsy 54, Frederick 22, John R 17, Nancy 16, Charles R 14, Joseph 13, Robert 9 and Harry 4 on the barque Joseph Soames, 774 tons, Captain C. Elmstone, from London 12th August 1850 / Plymouth 22nd August 1850, arrived at Port Adelaide, South Australia 23rd November 1850. Charles Wigley came aged 17, with his father, James Wigley 37, stepmother Maria 33, her daus Ellen 12 and Sarah 9, (Sarah Lihon birth registered in Southampton district, March quarter 1839) to Adelaide South Australia on the barque Trafalgar, 718 tons, Captain George Richardson, from London / Plymouth 16th October 1848, arrived at Port Adelaide, South Australia 17th January 1849 - details from The Ship Lists James Wigley wed 24 Jul 1848 at Saint Dunstan, Stepney, London, England to Maria Lihon. The Bray web site identifies Maria as nee Bray, daughter of Charles Bray and Ann Knight (but I found no record of her first marriage, back to 1833). James Wigley and Maria Bray lived after 1850 at Majorca, Vic, Aust where he was a Blacksmith. His dates 1806 - 1884 #13933 aged 78 died at Sandhurst, Vic, Aust, son of unknown Wheatcroft and Obadiah Wigley. (Obadiah Wigley wed 15 Nov 1795 to Mary Wheatcroft at Ashover, Derby, UK) Maria Bray was born in 1814 at Cornwall, Eng. She was the daughter of Charles Bray and Ann Knight. Maria Bray married (?) Lihou after 1832 at Cornwall. Maria Bray married James Wigley before 1849 at Eng. Maria Bray immigrated in January 1849 to SA, Aust with second husband James Wigley and three children on the ship "Trafalgar". She and James Wigley lived after 1850 at Majorca, then Bendigo. Maria Bray died on 11 October 1888 aged 74 at Sandhurst, Vic, Aust. Charles Robert Wigley wed Eleanor Greenway in Burra, South Australia a Cornish settlement and copper mine. Charles Wigley 1830 - 1899 #6405 aged 69 son of Jane Brock and James Wigley, came c1855 from South Australia with Eleanor Greenway and lived at Mccullums, Majorca
