They were living just a few houses from John and Caroline.

FIRST GENERATION
John Bassett was born about 1821 in Cornwall. He married Caroline Rowe, daughter of William Rowe. She was born about 1819 Cornwall. Caroline died in 1879, aged 60, in Victoria, Australia.

I found in the index of Assisted Immigrants (Reference Book 13, page 179) Bassett Caroline 39, William 10 and Charles 5 on the 'Coldstream' left Plymouth 31 Dec 1857, arrived Melbourne 13 Apr 1858 and the family left ship by their own account 17 Apr 1858

John Bassett and Caroline Rowe registered the births in Victoria of
Caroline Bassett 1860 and Emma Bassett 1862.
