When we see the face of an angel,
I wonder just what may we behold?
Maybe a friend showing us kindness,
Inviting us to come in from the cold!
Or maybe we see our children’s faces,
As they say their nightly prayers.
While they ask God to send His blessings,
To everyone for which they truly care.
This could also be the face of a stranger,
Who takes their time to lend us a hand.
On a bad day they offer us peace of mind,
Our predicament they try to understand.
This angel’s face may look young or old,
Whatever the appearance, wisdom it imparts.
I know we are not actually looking at a face,
But through the window to their heart.
