I remember that special Christmas Eve
That occurred, Oh, so many years ago.
When my family was extremely poor,
We all went to bed hungry and cold.
That night before my brother, sister and I
Laid down in our bed to go to sleep.
We had prayed to the Lord above,
For His blessings and our souls to keep.
That night as we slept, a miracle happened,
As two angel children came to visit us three.
Guiding us to the manger where the Christ child lay,
That incredible vision filled our hearts with glee.
We no longer felt so cold and hungry,
As our eyes did behold the babe in all His glory.
This dream surely was a special gift from God,
As we were shown the first Christmas story.
We all had the same exciting tale to relate,
As on that Christmas morning we awoke.
I know it wasn’t just a wonderful dream,
But His answer to those prayers we spoke.
Since we were honored by that precious gift,
This was the most special Christmas for me.
So I shall remember that glorious day with joy,
Even though it was still spent in poverty.
