I want to
be a cowboy, To ride my horse on the open
range. I want to return to Grampa's
time, When life was not so strange.
I want to be in the open
space, Where the air is so clean. Not
having to play behind locked doors, Because
some people are so mean.
I'm just a
little boy who wants To run and play while my
spirit soars. However, I live in these
troubled times, It's not safe to walk to the
store.
My Dad tells me riding his
bike Everyday was so very cool. But I
can't because my Mom Has to walk with me to
school.
Tonight as I lay me down to
sleep, To you Dear God I will pray, I want
to be a cowboy, Take me back to the good old
days!
