Imagine...
Imagine… Mary toddling mile after mile….heavy laden
with unborn child and finally….Finally at long last in the
dark of night a city appears. Relief….sweet relief….is soon
to be had as Joseph goes from inn to inn seeking a room for
them. A rude inn-keeper tells Joseph to take Mary to the
stable….Where the cattle and other animals are kept. A
stable beats being out in the bitter cold night….at least
now…. Mary can lay down on the straw and rest her weary
body. She has walked far and for such a long time…She is
cold, hungry, aching and so very tired. The unborn child is
letting her know it’s soon going to be arriving. Joseph finds
an old worn blanket and spreads it on the straw…gets
another one to cover Mary with….It’s tattered, torn and
smelly but provides warmth to Mary’s aching body. An
event that changed the world for all eternity took place, as
Jesus was born that night 2000 years ago…. Angels
sang….a star that still shines today appeared over the stable
where the baby lay. Shepherds left their flocks to find the
Child in Bethlehem of Judaea. Three wise men sought HIM
bearing precious gifts fit for THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Oh….what a glorious eventful night….No Santa….No
Sleigh….No Rudolph….but the greatest gift of
all……….JESUS!
AND HE IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!

Barbara allowed me to post this story she wrote about the
First Christmas when she wrote it in 2000. This year I’m updating Barbara’s story as a memorial to her, This will be
her second Christmas in Heaven. We all have a bright new angel this Christmas named Barbara and I’m so happy she
was as she always said, “My bestest friend!” I love you Barbara and miss you so very much. Thank you for
letting me share your insight with others.
