I’m just sitting here half asleep,
Under the shade tree in my hammock so deep.
Oh gee, this is such a lazy summer day!
I’m just trying to beat the heat in someway.

Long lazy summer days with bright sunshine,
While sipping ice tea as I unwind.
Nothing but puffy white clouds in the sky,
Been weeks without rain, the ground is so dry.

The grass turns brown, as it thirst for a drink.
I’m going to crank up the AC, I think.
Spending these lazy days trying to stay cool,
While the neighborhood kids are out of school.

That pool looks so wet and very inviting,
Making those big water splashes are exciting.
That big yellow sun is a cause for concern,
Put on lots of tanning lotion so you won’t burn.

I’ll will enjoy all these lazy summer days,
Because before long this season will be gone away.
This winter we will be trying to keep warm,
Working hard shoveling snow from the winter storms.
