The Little Shepard Boy

There was a little shepard boy,
Tending his flock over 2000 years ago.
That night he was looking for a lost lamb,
Who had wandered away in the snow.


When he walked down the hillside,
A gigantic star appeared in the night sky.
He gazed at it with total astonishment,
And he just had to ask God, “Why?”


While he stood awestruck on that hillside,
A band of heavenly angels came to sing.
They told him of the birth of the Christ Child,
As their voices over hill and dale did ring.


He was just a simple little shepard boy,
Looking for a lamb who wandered out of sight.
But he was told about the miracle happening,
In Bethlehem on that first Christmas night.
