Thought I couldn’t go on
When you walked out on me.
Thought I’d die of heartbreak
When you wanted to be free.


Thought my life had ended
When me you no longer loved.
Thought I would never love again
When my heart you shoved.


I was wrong since I did go on,
I found out I don‘t need you.
And I have now gotten over
The way you made me feel blue.


My life has a new beginning
As my heart hurts no more.
I now see I’m better off
Since you walked out that door.


I found out I can love again
Ever since I met someone new.
I now know what real love is like
Because he is someone that’s true.
