There is a country across the ocean blue,
Who seems to throw away children like old shoes.
It’s so heartbreaking in this world there can be,
Children asking for just a chance to live, is their plea.
In this country called China it’s prohibited by law,
Having more than one child is considered a flaw.
How can they think a helpless baby is a mistake?
So many full orphanages just makes my heart break.
Being dumped on the roadside like a piece of garbage,
Then many of these babies end up in an orphanage.
These places are so crowded and running out of room.
How can they submit the country’s future to such doom?
But those in the orphanages are the lucky ones you see,
Many of the others are killed and thrown away like debris.
However some families in America are their saving grace,
With a home to these throw away children they embrace.
Tonight when you kiss your children goodnight,
Please think about those children who for life must fight.
So many crowded in orphanages in a country across the sea,
I’m so blessed with one little girl who joined my family.

You know there are many children around the world who are
homeless and orphaned. But this is especially sad when it is against
the law for a child to be born, like it is for a second child in China.
Many of China’s beautiful children are being adopted by people in
other countries of the world. China is losing some of their best
future assets. And because they are mostly giving away the girl
babies, this county will be facing a shortage of women when this
generation is grown. My beautiful granddaughter, Julianna is one
of these children who was adopted from China. My son told me
how heartbreaking it is to see so many babies crowed in the
orphanages as they seem to crave just a little attention. He told me
he wished everyone of those throw away children could find a
loving home, however there will be many who will live there in the
orphanages until they are grown and then their life will probably be
that of a servant.
