Welcome to the 2nd Michigan V.I.

You are standing in front of a barn. Beside the open doors stands a flag blowing in the wind. Around it are 6 guards at attention. As it moves in the wind you able to read beside the eagle on the stripe. "2nd Regiment Michigan Infantry"

You know you have finally found your regiment. You will finally join in for the cause of freedom. This fills you with pride. Soon you will be fighting with your cousin who joined 8 months ago.

You walk into the barn and in front of you is the Sargeant Major with bags under his eyes. He looks as though he has not slept for a few days. As you look around you realize that everybody in this room looks the same and you now know that this will not be a walk in the park.

The captain greets you and asks you what you are there for. You hand him your papers. He takes them and directs a Corp to show you to your Company.

As you are heading towards the door the Captain looks up from his table and says "Welcome to the 2nd Michigan V.I. We will be moving out in the morning for the battle field."

I am Private Church of the 2nd Michigan Volunteer Infantry. I have created this page for the purpose of educating and entertaining people.

Since I started on this page it has grown to be much more as people sent me information and I discovered more. For this reason I have added dates that I have Updated the individual page rather than just doing it on our main page.

I am presently trying to make our page easier to Navigate. I have divided this page into section which are listed below. Click on the name to go where you would like.
