CSM Moorer
Rock
steady soldiers, CSM Moorer passing by,
Address
her properly, look her in they eye.
Nearly
thirty years ago she joined the Woman’s Army Corps.
Would
she stay three or thirty, she just wasn’t sure.
From
a small town in the south she left home.
Like
the new soldiers today, she felt alone.
For
a young black woman, success was hard to achieve,
Faith
in her God and herself, she had to believe.
She
asked for the hardest jobs and did them well,
She
had a reputation for caring and raising a little hell.
As
a Battalion CSM she was known for being tough,
Standards
less than perfect would never be enough.
Use
her as a role model and you’ll never go wrong.
Pride in yourself and your convictions strong.
Stand
tall soldiers, stand at Parade Rest,
CSM
Moorer passing by, she is one of the best.

One of the finest CSMs I’ve ever served under; a real soldier and a true
lady.
