Arizona Libertarian Party

ALP vs ALP Inc.

Believe it or not their are TWO official ARIZONA Libertarian Parties in the State of Arizona. One is called ALP and the other ALP Inc. In both cases ALP stands for Arizona Libertarian Party.

Only one the ALP has ever been recognized by the Arizona State Government as the Official Arizona Libertarian Party.1, 2

Both have at one have been at one time or another been recognized by the National Libertarian Party often called LP as the Official Arizona Libertarian Party.

Until Aug 1999 ALP was recognized by the National Libertarian Party as the Official Arizona Libertarian Party. In violation of its by laws which say the LP can only disaffilte ALP for just cause, and against the advice of LP legal staff who urged LP not to take any action until the lawsuit of ALP Inc suing ALP was solved the National LP disaffiated ALP and affiated ALP Inc.

In Jan 2000 the Arizona court 3 ruled that ALP was the official Libertarian Party of Arizona. This means ALP is recognized by the State of Arizona as the Official Libertarian Party of Arizona, and ALP Inc. is recognized by the National Libertarian Party as the Official Libertarian Party of Arizona.

In Aug 2001 the good guys lost and the Arizona Appeals Court ruled that evil ALP INC was the official Libertarian Party of Arizona.

At that time all the Phoenix ALP members pretty much disbanded and left the Arizona Libertarian party and disbanded the Maricopa County Libertarian party. That last meeting was at the China Village Resturant on Indian School Road and 28th Street in Phoenix.

It wasn't until a year later that I would find out David Dorn had been spreading lies around for a number of years telling people I am a government snitch. David Dorn appears to be a stuck up rich kid who likes to hurt people he considers himself better then. David Dorn runs an insurance company called Dorn Agency5. Would you buy insuranse from a insuranse company where the owner makes up lies about people he doesn't like? Think about that before you do any business who a guy who CALLS himself a Libertarian but doesn't practice what he preaches.

In 2003 the evil Peter Schmerl dropped out of the party and didn’t even bother to go to the 2003 Convention in Phoenix. Jason Auvenshine was elected as the ALP Inc leader.

A little history

ALP is the original Arizona Libertarian Party and has been around since 19xx. It has members and officers all over the state but is pretty much centered in Phoenix where 3 million of the state 4 million people live.

Although it’s beginning go back to 1995? When Peter Schmerl first tried to take over the Arizona Libertarian Party in Prescott.? ALP Inc. Didn't get started until Peter Schmerl illegally created ALP Inc. at the 1999 Arizona Libertarian Party Convention in Tucson. An Arizona court 3 has ruled that Peter Schmerl attempt to take over the party was not legal and ruled that ALP is the official Arizona Libertarian Party. ALP Inc. is pretty much based in Tucson where Peter Schmerl lives.

Foot Notes

1 Some of the data was entered into it several times. When I cleaned it up in April 2004 I could have deleted some of the data by accident. The original version of this document is at: mike_liberty/arizona_old_new.html

2 In the appeals court ruling ALP lost and ALP Inc. won and ALP Inc. took over the ALP. The appeals court decision is on one of the yahoo groups list servers in the files area. Probably the lpaz-discuss list server. It is a PDF file. Tom Rawles one of the ALP lawyers gave it to Mike Ross. Powell Gammill scanned it, into a PDF document and posted it to the list server. I think this is the document. It is from the Division One Arizona Court of Appeals. It was filed on

Aug 16, 2001
The number of the document is
1 CA-CV 00-0335
The judges are:
Jefferson L. Lankford
E. G. Noyes, Jr.4

It looks like the orginal lawsuit which Judge Robert D. Myers saw was Cause Number:

CV 1999-03904

3 ALP has always said that Arizona Election Laws were Unconstitional and refused to obey them. For example State Election law demands that political party conventions be held in Phoenix and in January. ALP has always broken the law by holding is conventions in any city but Phoenix, and in any month but January (usually April). Peter Schmerl and ALP Inc then followed all the election laws held a convention in Phoenix in January and then went to the Secretary of State claiming ALP Inc was the Official Libertarian because they followed the election law and that ALP was not the official Libertarian Party because of ALP's refusal to follow Arizona Election law.

The odd thing was that both the Republicans and Democrats became part of the court case and sided with ALP against ALP Inc asking that the Arizona Election Laws be declared unconstitional.

4 Judge Noyes is the ASSHOLE JUDGE who made me take off my hat when I was in the court room.

Our motto is:
Slandering Mike Ross's good name since 1998
We can slander your name too if we don't like you or if we think you dress funny. And if you have any claims we MIGHT pay them if your not a nerd like Mike Ross 6

6 Not Really. Mike made up the motto because he is very angry about the damages David Dorn has cause him by making up his hateful lies and telling them to Libertarians in the state of Arizona.
