Ice Floe Grove

Reformed Druids of Northern Antarctica

My name is Ian Friesland, and I run the Ice Floe Grove here at the world's bottom. Our grove began in 1991, during my first visit here; but as you can tell we are rather challenged when it comes to finding trees and living things to worship (except eachother, I guess). Most of the life is on the coast or below the surface, but we won't go there. : )

We generally only meet when the weather is warm enough to permit outside movement (our seasons are the opposite of yours, remember). Seeing as how our membership includes mostly penguins; which I'm studying. I've tried to tailor it to their needs.

December 2nd, 2001 Ok, all you Asian afficianados out there- herefs my haiku (5-7-5 poem)

          South-polefs Mid-Summer
No trees, no birds, no rivers.
          And it is still cold.

          Leaves swept in riverfs flow,
          Many colored, tossed and tumbling.
          This is retirement?
