VN ÐÁM GIO "Death Day" Anniversary 
This website was created because a friend asked me about the ÐÁM GIO, "Death Day" Anniversary Celebration in Vietnam. It is a gathering of friends and relatives which is usually put on by the head of the family. It consists of a feast prepared by the family, friends and neighbors of the departed person and has lots of food and drink (soft drinks, Ruou Gao/rice wine, and/or beer if the family can afford it). Generally, there is a prayer for the departed person and also a meal is prepared for him/her. I have attended several ÐÁM GIO's in Go Cong, including one that was held in at TinhXA NgocQuang Buddist Pagoda(Chua)/Photo. However, the celebration is NOT a religious event but it is a Vietnamese Custom/Tradition.
The ÐÁM GIO for my wife's parents, Pham Van Ngu and Huynh Thi Nuu/Photo, is held at thier home in AP(Hamlet) TuanHoa, Xa(Village) LongTuan, ThiXa(Town) GoCong, TienGiang Province, which is presently occupied by Nam(5) Hai, his fifth child and younger brother of my wife, LY-Huong, Chi Thu(4).
