Be it resolved that ...
By LANCE HORNBY -- Toronto Sun As 2003 approached, the Maple Leafs reflected on the old year and made some wishes and resolutions for the new:
PAT QUINN: "In general, you hope for wonderful things. But I'm just a hockey coach. To talk about world peace, I'm not in a beauty pageant, but we all want those sorts of things. There are fearful things on the horizon. While we'd like to get lost in our own little cocoon and just think about winning hockey games, there's a bigger picture. If there is a (supreme) being out there and I believe there is, we need some help."
ALYN McCAULEY: "To be more honest with myself."
RIC JACKMAN: "To earn a spot in this lineup."
WADE BELAK: "The big thing is world peace. Everyone should try and get along, except on the ice where you should pound each other, but in a fun way. Oh yeah, less cussing at the refs."
NIK ANTROPOV: "Win our next game."
BRYAN McCABE: "Fifty goals would be nice, hey one goal would be nice."
SHAYNE CORSON: "Health, happiness and peace. And to win a Stanley Cup in Toronto."
TIE DOMI: "Things are very troubling in the world now. I hope countries learn to get along."
TREVOR KIDD: "I never make personal New Year's resolutions ... they're made to be broken." |
