Reading is a key component of our first grade classroom. The majority of our day is spent with reading instruction and enjoying literature. This helps the students enjoy reading success and develop a love of books. Each month, the students will have the opportunity to order books from a variety of book clubs. These book clubs offer reduced prices on wonderful books that will encourage your child's love of reading as well as providing practice with different levels of text. This optional resource can build your child's home library in addition to earning books for our classroom.

Every month the students will receive a variety of book club order forms. I generally will send home forms from Scholastic, Carnival, and Troll. This provides numerous choices for you and your child. You may order from as many as you like. Remember, ordering is completely optional. Please make checks or money orders payable to the clubs you order from. Send your completed order to school with your child's name and payment by the deadline. Check back to this page for deadline dates.
