You step through a shimmering spring-green portal, emerging into a seemingly vacant clearing. It is alight with dappled sunbeams, filtered through the forest canopy. The scent of earth is in the air, the spicy fragrance of pine needles intermingled with the delicate freshness of newly unfurling leaves. Flowers stud the mossy carpet that blankets the majority of the clearing, interupted only by the mirror-like surface of a pensivc pond. You are suddenly startled by a shrill whistle. Strangely enough, it seems to be coming from about your feet, not the forest canopy, like one would expect. Out of the corner of your eye, you catch a blur of motion in the vicinity of your ankles. You kneel for closer inspection. Impatiently pawing at your shoelaces are what appear to be six miniature winged horses, each standing only about as high as your thumb! A comforting chirp confirms your suspicion that these are indeed the source of the strange vocalization. You extend your hand, and they come forward to nuzzle it and request in their own special way any treats that you may just happen to have concealed on your person...
