An Interview with our Beloved Ferry Girl!              

Okay, that's enough background. Let's interview her now.

Karina: By the way, where IS Botan? She should be here by now.
Misty: I don't know... oh, there's George the Oni. Let's go ask him.
(the two approach George)
George: Botan? I have no idea. Maybe she's out with Koenma on a date or something...
Karina: We just interviewed Koenma a while ago, remember?
George:Oh, yeah, he did give me quite a wallop.
Misty: Oh, well, anyway, George...maybe you could tell us what you think of Botan.
George: Oh no, not again. (glances behind him) Well, since Botan ain't here yet... She's a cute, lively, and bubbly bubblehead.
Karina: *sweatdrop* Well, thank you for your honest opinion...
Botan: LOOK OUT!!!
CRASH!
(Botan, flying on her paddle, crashed into us.)
George: Why does it always have to be me? (falls to the ground, unconscious)
Botan: Oh, I'm sorry, did I hurt you?
Misty: (dizzily) No...no..not in the least bit...(falls to the ground)
Botan: Oh, I'm so sorry...I was in such a hurry! I was quite late for an interview....oh, wait a minute! Are you the ones who were supposed to interview me?
Karina: Yes...oh, I feel dizzy...
Botan:(smiling sheepishly) You really can hurt someone if you're not careful, huh?
Misty:We learned that the hard way.
Karina: Okay, we're fine now. Ahem... so, as the Deity of Death, what exactly do you do?
Botan: Well...I guide souls across the Sanzu river, so they can go to their final destination.
Misty: When did you first enter the series?
Botan: Oh, when Yusuke-kun died. I was supposed to bring him to Koenma, who gave Yusuke a number of tests to see if he deserved to go back to life. Later on, Koenma-sama sent me to tell Yusuke that he was the one who was selected to be the Rei Kai tantei, or the spiritual detective. I became Yusuke's assistant.
Karina: Assistant? Cool! Were you able to fight with them?
Botan: Well, actually, no. Usually I just tell Yusuke if he has a mission, or if there is some urgent information. But wait a minute... oh, yes, there was some time wherein I WAS able to fight a bit. During Yusuke's fight with Suzaku, I tried to stop those people bitten by the Ma Kai insects from causing further trouble in the Ningen Kai. I even tried to save Keiko from them.
Misty: Okay, for our last question, where did you get that wonderful blue hair dye and those contact lenses? I'd love to buy them and say "It's the Botan look." Cool, ne?
Botan: (bewildered) Hair dye? Contact lenses? What are you talking about?
Karina: Oh, duh, Misty, don't you know all anime characters have those funky hair and weird-colored eyes? (bonks Misty on the head) It's a law!
Botan: I just don't get what they're talking about. (smiles and shrugs) You kids are so funny! Well, is that all?
Misty: Yes, of course.
Botan: Well, then hop in on my oar! I'll take you two home!
Karina: Cool! We can get home fast since there's no traffic!
(after a few minutes of flying)
Misty: What's happening? Why are slowing down?
Botan: I think one of you's a little too heavy.
Karina: (looks at Misty)
Misty: What are you looking at me for? (defensively) I'm not THAT heavy!
Botan: Uh-oh... I think we're gonna fall... (gives them another sheepish smile)
Misty: (angrily) STOP IT! I"M NOT THAT HEAVY!
Botan: No, I'm serious...
Karina: WHAT?!
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
