Throughout my life I have held her close
She has filled so many of my dreams
Even when others said she can not be real
Closing my eyes its her smile I see
So many years have passed in my life
Always holding an emptiness inside
My soul caged by so many disappointments
I built my walls to escape all the lies
Feeling no hope she will ever come
I close the door to my heart and throw away the key
Because now I know without a doubt
Only her soul could bring me peace
As the key was passed through the air
A gentle hand reached up
Catching the key bringing it to her heart
I felt her souls soft touch
Feeling my soul as it reached for hers
As I took her into my arms so tight
Sharing a soft kiss never to end
The first look into her eyes
The walls so high around my heart
Were knocked to rubble at my feet
As a wave of new life ran through my body
Growing stronger with every new heart beat
I say a prayer to the spirits above
Giving thanks not being nearly enough
I make a promise for the rest of my life
She will be cherished with all of my love
To those who say there is no soul mate in life
I wish so much they could feel
Even half the love I hold in my heart
They would then know it is real
