There was a knight with a fate still unknown Many a quest he had ventured through Only to finish as he stood alone He had a friend of a golden heart Who showed him paths throughout his days As they sat on a cool spring night This friend told him of his fate The fire that warmed them was a gentle glow With the sparks that danced in air The smoke that swirled and took a shape Of a lovely princess with golden hair Sir Knight his friend spoke in a very low voice Look ahead at what you now see To the destined journey your life must take Look ahead at what this might be The knight looked deep into the fire and the smoke Feeling nothing but cold that clutched him so deep Dear friend I see nothing but the smoke in my eyes Help me understand what it is that I seek His friend moves across the way Then lowers his head bringing them eye to eye Sir knight open your heart and look again It is right in front of you shining so bright His friend shuts his eyes and bows his head As an ember takes flight into the sky The knight watches as it reaches up to the stars Then fades away into the night Its then that a voice is heard as the stars start to shift Coming together as one then a beam of light plummets in Down to the fire and explodes in a burst As he sees her face and hears her words My knight I have waited for such a long time In a prison I am kept locked far away You are the knight which holds the key You hear my voice and see my face so it is time you set me free Then as quick as she came she was lost once again As his friend lifted his head and spoke these words Sir Knight to find your heart and your soul Pick up your sword for your path now takes a turn Then they both rise as the sun touches the land Sending a shadow as far as the eye can see His friend takes flight and yells down to the knight The end is near now please move your feet The sun rises high then sets once again Then the moon passes by as they journey on To the next rising sun that fills the sky On a castle so strong The knight with only his sword and his friend up above Makes his way to the castle then scales its tall walls He then sees a princess in a tower cross the way He fights his way to her as all the doors start to fall Reaching the last door strongest of all He works with all his might to clear the way As it falls down in splinters to the stone floor below He takes her tight in his arms as night takes the day Then out of the castle he whisks her away To a clearing in the forest where he sets her on her feet As his friend flies over then sets down close by Speaking these words to both he and she Your paths have now joined a new life you now lead Two hearts once lost have now found their way Your spirits now dance together You have become one till your last mortal days After which you will dance in the heavens Two stars shining brightly together in delight A legend for all future lovers to hold close Knowing true love is never out of site |
