We start at a place
From the fall of pure rain
Small and so fresh
With no knowledge of pain
A babbling Brook
It’s journey begins
Is touched by all
As it twists and bends
So soft and so quiet
It feels every touch
Then joins with another
They mix and speed up
Around the mountain
Through the valley below
Meeting yet another
With a touch so cold
Moving yet faster
It starts to roar in the night
Begins to churn from its depths
Its quiet left behind
Its journey half over
Its pureness tainted and blurred
So many have joined
Only confusion now heard
Finding a cliff
Feeling a pull from within
As they all split apart
Wondering where it will end
Passing the crest
Torn apart in the fall
Once touched by so many
Brings a new life to all
Feeling the calmness
Slowing in its speed
The small babbling Brook
Starts to feel a peace
Once so pure
With time has become
Part of all that in life
To be never undone
We are all touched in life
Both good and bad
To give way to defeat
Is ever so sad
Take what life has taught you
The lessons well learned
Let them guide your path
To where it might turn
Shut out the darkness
Shut out the cold
Feel the touch of a new day
Let it consume your soul
With the air so pure
You feel a new drop of rain
You smile as you know
You made it through all the pain
