In the heart of the sea In search of home port Or land yet to be The captain and crew Like the heart and the mind There are times that they scuffle Times that their blind Storm overhead Rough water below She rocks and she pivots Hoping one day to know When will this stop My planks they do creak With the stress of the ocean Its a port I do seek My sails they are ripping My bow nearly down Please make up your minds Or put me aground Time I have seen And time yet to be I don't wish to lie Under the sea Yet they still fight Even worse it does seem Then all the sudden I am pulled at the seams It is a great wind It has filled up my sails I can hear my mast cracking The crew they all fell Their eyes were all open To what they have seen As gods hand pushed me forward Out of rough seas A voice I do hear Speaks to the captain and crew End all this madness This I tell you I give you the currents Filled with my love Given as the wind From way up above Get ahold of the wheel Bring the ship about straight Look to the horizon Look to your faith Take this moment in time The words I do give You must work together To save your fine ship There's a port up ahead Not far out of sight If it takes you all day Or takes you all night I give you the heavens I give you the stars I give you your eyes And I give you your heart So open your eyes And your mind it shall find Your heart knows the path Leave these troubles behind As they all stare Mouths open in awe The skies are now clearing As the sea slowly falls A calmness has set And all are at ease As they work with each other The great wind calms to a breeze I hear a loud yell From the crows nest above The land there she lies Its the land that I love As they pull into port They now finally see All the gifts that were given And the gifts yet to be When the fighting had stopped To let faith be the guide They found all the answers Being held deep inside Now the ship is all tied To the cleats on the dock She sits and remembers Of that time on the clock When it all went together Bringing ease to her soul She now sits there smiling As her life is so full |
