~*~ Main Characters ~*~
Mitsuo Shiozu-
Gallery
Mitsuo is the protagonist of the story. When Mitsuo overcame his lonliness in the first chapter, he is shown wanting to constantly help those in need (Though he doesn't go flying into it willingly). Mitsuo does not seem to be bothered by rumors or taunts. He ignores them, which shows that he doesn't let the little things in life affect him. Usually going in over his head, Mitsuo becomes very loyal to a person once he makes friends with them. Dependable and somewhat strong in spirit, Mitsuo's good attributes are also his bad ones. Being overly helpful usually means disasterous consequences for our hero and his friends. Also, when thinking of others too much, Mitsuo tends not to know what HE wants, ie to like or to love Hasunuma. Over all, he's a shy guy at first, but a very loyal friend once you get to know him.

Hasunuma-
Gallery
Hasunuma is Mitsuo's first friend, and an incredibly sexy one at that! He's a member of the boy's cheerleading squad and a very dependable student, as he is a Team Leader for the class's trip to Lake K in volume 2. A bit of a control freak, Hasunuma will stick by Mitsuo in times of need. Not afraid to show the least bit of PDA (Public Display of Affection) in front of his homophobic classmates, Hasunuma is rather open with his feelings for Mitsuo. Being protective as well, he protects Mitsuo as much as he can, whether it be from the scorching sun or a dangerous ghost. He's also an amature Occultist and helps Mitsuo's ghost troubles with his charm cards. Because of his superiority complex, he tends to go overboard in showering Mitsuo with affection, which makes fellow classmate and friend, Ichi, rather uncomfortable. Although open in showing love, Hasunuma seems to keep any sadness or angst locked in, as shown during the 'games' with High Priest Mikuni where he merely glares at the priest (and pulls a few tricks) rather than openly showing his disgust.

High Priest Mikuni- Gallery
The High Priest of the Shinto Temple, Mikuni certainly doesn't act like one. He is rather stealthy and evil, wishing to molest pretty boys than to protect them (especially Hasunuma). Though Mitsuo somewhat looks up to him, he doesn't exactly play goody-two-shoes around the boy, openly showing his love for sick fantisies, such as pretty aprons for his new 'playmate'. Though his evil behavior, he seems to have immense spiritual energy, even giving spirits the ability to feel as human as possible. Though mostly bad traits define Mikuni, he seems to generally care about Mitsuo and does somewhat help the poor boy when he was mourning Hasunuma (Though he helped Mitsuo a bit TOO much...).

~*~ Secondary Characters ~*~
I'm not too sure, but these characters might become main characters because of how they affect the story. That's why Kanau is here rather than with Ghosts.

Ichi Shirai-
Gallery
Ichi is first introduced kinda as the 'bad guy'. When Natsuko would possess Mitsuo to persuade Ichi to play soccer, the angst-ridden boy usually would harm Natsuko/Mitsuo before finally telling them off. Eventually, it is revealed that Ichi is a nice boy who did a horrible mistake and is letting that mistake overule his life. Thankfully, in volume 2, Ichi seems to live without the angst of his mistake. Ichi cares for Mitsuo and tries to help the spirit-avoiding youth as much as possible. Though not too sure WHY he cares for Mitsuo, Ichi nonetheless becomes a rival for the boy's feelings with Hasunuma. Despite their rivalry, the two maintain a friendship and work close together to keep their Mitsuo safe. Ichi tends to be a bit too reclusive and would rather deal with a problem than to talk to anyone about it. Seeing as that trait helped the angst within to become stronger, Ichi cannot quite break his habit, though he does open up somewhat to Hasunuma.

Kanau Hibiki-
Gallery
Kanau first came to Mitsuo while the boy was escaping Hasunuma's and Ichi's protection. Appearing to be helpful at first, it can be clearly seen that Kanau is not one for happiness. Kanau's death is very tragic, and it reflects his depressed personality beautifully. Rather straight-forward, Kanua is not afraid to lie to get what he wants. Being dead for 15 years has left Kanau bitter to his death, but still open to a new life with Mitsuo and Friends (tm). Being depressed isn't exactly fun, as Kanau is forever thinking about how he died and the betrayal that lead to it, though a new situation may interrupt his thoughts.

Itsuki Kagami- Gallery
Itsuki is an apathetic medium who seemed to have a border-line incest crush on his mother. His mother was a koto player who used to lead Itsuki into a daze, where his dead father would possess his body (And you can imagine what the two did despite their son standing only a few feet away). Itsuki always seems to find bad luck, as he's often robbed. Itsuki is the type to be open about his feelings, but also secretive as he won't share anything that doesn't need to be shared. He has trouble dealing with love, but Shino is slowly breaking him down bit after bit.

Shino Fujikake- Gallery
Shino is a VERY determined man. He apparently fell in love with Itsuki in ninth grade and has been following him ever since. When he first appeared, he tried to be mute to 'mystify' Itsuki and have the man fall in love with him. Dependable and very loyal to his feelings, Shino is polite as he is stubborn, as he refuses to back away from Itsuki. When he hurts, it can be manifested into the physical plain, which can be quite chilling.

The Sanjaya Brothers- Gallery
Ichiro, Niro, and Satoi are the Sanjaya brothers and man what a bunch they are! Ichiro is a powerful Buddist Monk who has a deep, deep obsession for Mikuni. A bit over-the-top, he's quite hyper, especially when Mikuni is around. Niro is the second son and as crazy as his older brother. Quite in love with women, all of the maids in the house are beautiful women. He loves chickens too. Satoi, the third son, is the only sane one and is quite embarrased by his brothers. He seems polite and well rounded, but doesn't seem to use his magic (if any).

~*~ Ghosts ~*~
Kiyomi Suzaka-
Gallery
Kiyomi is the first ghost that Mitsuo encounters. Being insanely genki and hyper, she quickly takes over Mitsuo's life, always creating 'situations' for Mitsuo to fall into Hasunuma or to talk to the older boy. She was killed by a car hitting her (The driver had fallen asleep at the wheel) and felt that she missed many things in life, including a first kiss. After an intense argument with Mitsuo, it is revlead that Kiyomi was actually a coward in her life. She would always agree just to be accepted and would never voice out her opinion. She harbored a crush on Hasunuma, but was always too shy to tell him of her feelings. After having a final word with Hasunuma, Kiyomi is finally able to travel to heaven in peace.

Natsuko Shiiba-
Gallery
Natsuko is a rather independant woman, having been a ghost for 6 years, she's developed some rather heafty tricks. Open and playful, she finds Mitsuo absolutely great to hang around with (As he's the first person she ever met who can talk to her). Killed by a car hitting her, Natsuko decided to 'haunt' Ichi Shirai afterwards and watched the playful young boy become an angst-ridden teenager. Feeling deep guilt for this, she kept a vigilant watch over him and yanked Mitsuo into helping her (By taking over his body a few times, of course!). Eventually, Ichi and Natsuko resolved their problems (through Mitsuo) and she was finally able to go into heaven after having her final word with Ichi.

~*~ Background Characters ~*~
Misuo's Classmates-
Mitsuo's classmates are all homophobic and constantly jeer and tease Mitsuo and Hasunuma. Though they are all homophobic, it seems that they keep an unhealthy watch over Mitsuo and Hasunuma's developing relationship.

Student Body President and his Assistant-
Excentric and loving to cause trouble, the Student Body President only appears in vol. three.

Shrine Representitive-
An obsessed freak with women, the representitive attempts to get girls into Mikuni's shrine.
