The Tetsusaiga is one of two swords that Totosai, a swordsmith, forged from fangs of InuYasha and Sesshoumaru's father. It is quite powerful, and can kill 100 demons with one swipe if used properly. The sword works by cutting through the windscar, a clash of demon energy, and releasing it upon the opponent of the sword's weilder, causing 5 or so energy strands to tear the opponent apart. It was added to by Totosai after a detachment of Naraku called Goshinki broke it. When Totosai fixed the sword, he added one of InuYasha's fangs (which he took without asking) to it, making it stronger and much heavier in its transformed state. The sword protects InuYasha's life, and keeps him from transforming into full-demon form. It is essential to InuYasha's survival. |
