Ho`omoe wai kâhi ke kâo`o.
Let's travel together like water flowing in one direction.

In Moe, I found a kindred spirit. Traveling in the same direction, we shared much in common in this life, especially in matters of the Spirit.

1.  We are both instruments of His Peace.

We both love the gifts that the Spirit of  Aloha gave us.  It's been said: "To whom much is given, much is expected."

Raised and nurtured with Aloha as keiki o ka `âina (children of the land), we have both acted on our deep sense of obligation to pass it on, to pay it forward. In our kupuna (senior) years, we have traveled the same path of consciously sharing Aloha with others in our daily lives.

We were granted eyes to see the Beauty of  Aloha; ears to hear the Voice of Aloha; and hearts, minds, and spirits to be of service and share the Spirit of Aloha with others, with you.

For Moe,  Aloha was shared using his music as a channel and his voice as his instrument.  For me, Aloha is shared using the Internet as a channel and  the written word as my instrument.

As Moe would say, "Aloha is a part of me, a part of you."  We became a part of each other.

2.  We both shared a loving relationship with Israel Kamakawiwo`ole in this life.

Moe was Israel's uncle and Israel was my friend. Israel pierced the veil, reuniting me with my mother; and Moe pierced through the veil to visit with Israel

"WHILE Moe Keale was "dead" during those seven minutes following a near fatal heart attack March 12, the beloved Hawaiian singer saw fellow entertainer Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, who died in 1997, coming out of an ethereal "7-Eleven" store.

"He told me, 'Eh, Moe, you can't come in here; this is heaven. Not your time yet," Keale remembers.

Looking quite the fallen but not yet defeated warrior -- tired, a bit confused, embarrassed even -- Keale gets teary-eyed remembering his near death experience and "all the good things" that have and will come from it, and "what I almost lost."

3. We both visited Heaven before it was our time to go to the spirit side of life.

The difference is Moe spoke of his experience immediately; for me, doing so took decades. Moe's example and others embolden me to share it here

Those who have received must give; those who have quickened must become the quickener. Within a year, Moe tied up the loose ends of his mission.  As for me, my work lies ahead of me.  Some of us are slower learners...

For both of us, our wake-up calls and showers of Light were ultimate gifts of Aloha from Akua.

"During those seven and a half minutes Keale had an amazing, life-changing experience. He explained it as waking up with darkness surrounding him. “I couldn’t see anything,” he said. What happened next was like a needle poking holes through the darkness and light shooting through. He was in space floating, grabbing at what looked like stars." ~ Source

I've lived long enough to know that inspiration and intuitive flashes don't just happen. Last week, a synchronistic sequence of events and promptings impelled me to create this site for Moe. To those interested, they are described here:

I am simply one of many who is grateful for the joy that Moe was able to bring into my life through his music. That is no small gift to be thankful for. In return, this site makes accessible his legacies -- his example, songs and  "ALOHA Is..." lesson --  to anyone online, everywhere. Once again, he has broadened his reach!

Fair winds and following seas, Moe.  May this humble Web site, an amateur's effort to perpetuate your memory and message, inspire others to live Aloha.

The journey continues...until we meet again. Ola kou inoa!
