This is our second Moldy home
We bought this home Oct. 2003.
We bought this home from a freind my fathers worked with. After being here only 2 months, we all were ill again. The horror started repeated itself.
Some photos to share..........
After moving in we found out from a few neighbors that this home ahd had a fire, leaking tolet and sink drians. The dfloors in bathroom and kitchen had been wet for a very long time. Mold testing found large amout in penn, yeast and E-coli in the floors.
This home was like brand new when we bought it. The seller did a very good make-up job on it before selling it to us. All new paint, carpet and the bethroom. It was all new with ceramic tile flooring. Even the tub, tolet and sink was new.  A little cottage I called it.
All the mold on the underside of the oak hardwood floors, was growing from the walls egde to about 6 inches out from wall. Not only in bathroom and kitchen. But most of the home.
This hole was coved up under old flooring and tare. Than on top of that was brand new pergo flooring. The mold and rott is from the gutters never being cleaned and the water over flowed and run into the home between the walls.  The back half of your home could of fell off.  The wall was not suported at all.
We had to remove all our stairs going into the basement. They were moldy under all the new flooring. Seller did not even clean the floor before applying the pergo flooring and moldings.
The seller removed the moldy drywall off the walls and replaced it all new leaving the old moldy rotted stuff inside. This was caused by the single pane window sweating in the winter time, than freezing on the inside, getting warm and melting, which leaks right onto the window ledge. Than from there goes into the walls and starts mold to grow.
The front room window, was the only window that was replaced. All others were old one pane glass. But did not leak!
Basement: MORE MOLD!!!!
Growing under old carpet
When we tore down the walls we found all this hidden mold. Builder seller just covered it all up with paint and new moldings...  Buyers beware!!!
