A Single Rose
He walks into the room and says, "I brought something for you", He hands her rose, To him, the rose means that his love is true, It means that his feeling of love is unconditional, He looks into her eyes quietly, To try to see something, And then sincerely says, "I love you", He doesn't know how to explain how deeply he loves her, And he wonders if she possibly could feel the same way, He wraps her in his arms tenderly, Wishing he could read her soul, And understand, She says, "I love you", And nothing more at all, And he knows that so many people say that, But is their love unconditional or true? He knows that his is, That is what keeps him searching for another that lives that way, And he is looking for that soul connection, He wants to know, honestly, As he remembers how he had been hurt before, He knows many people give roses, But, as she holds that single rose in her hand, It symbolizes so much more that he couldn't even explain. ©2003 Molly Nicole For a child, they want a life beyond theirs so bad, Just to be able to do something, Is so wonderful, To be outside a hospital, This is their dream, To be able to do something someday, Like so many of us do everyday, Life is so precious, Those of us that are so fortunate, Just to have a life, Were living a dream that a child once had, We can do so much, We can help others out, Something that they would have done if they would have grown up, They would understand, They would understand in such a profound way. Life is so precious, Sometimes we just don't see it. ©2002 Molly Nicole |
