The sporting challenge, despite of what some of them claim, is not the champions' prime motivation for risking their lives in the frenzied race. Crogs, Nourasians, Innas, Humans, all came to Oban to take home "The Great Prize' - a chance to have their deepest wish granted by the powerful Avatar, the mysterious organizer of the race.
It is believed that the Avatar is the most omnipotent being in the universe, and can grant the winner anything: serving the galaxy on a plate or even bringing a loved one back to life giving every competitor a good reason to fight.
For the Human Coalition, victory is vital. The humans have only recently reached out to their galactic community, that is just over the last few decades. Although, they are already being threatened by powerful and aggressive neighbors, namely the Crogs. Nothing Short of a miracle can save the humans from total annihilation.
Too bad the Earth's Team #1 star-pilot was victim of a terrible sabotage just minutes before the start of the race. With no other champion available within a twenty-five light-year radius, MOLLY, a precocious young girl, and a star-pilot prodigy, is Earth's unexpected hope of victory. |
