Jeff Roach from MSCC and I headed north to Road America for a weekend at the Can Am races. Our friends Dick Durant and Bob Klempel had been in the original series and we had not even seen it, so here was a chance to get up and see it all once again. These pictures are a mix from that weekend.
I have about three packs of pictures and will get them scanned on here as time permits. Check back to see what gets added.

Since it was an SCCA weekend with the Can Am, the Trans Am was also there. These cars were still real cars, with frames, and even old Corvettes were competing, unlike today.
Today, vintage racing is well established, although still often confused as to whether it is real racing of vintage cars or 7/10ths running of vintage cars. Back in 1980, the Chicago Historic group was much more into a good time, with the cars much less competitive while on the track. As you can see, some do not even have roll bars.

If you can identify any of these people, please email me with their names. Thanks.
