News from Oxford, High Wycombe
& the surrounding areas

last updated Wednesday, March 17th 1999 - 2300hrs

Having watched the game in Milan and seen a British win I can now concentrate on some important events in Oxford HOT OF THE PRESS. The Oxford Bus Companies express service to Abingdon today received a face lift when Volvo 616 re-entered service after a repaint and the application of new vinyl's for the X3. At the same time 625 entered the paint shop for its first repaint and it will thereafter look more like an Oxford Volvo with correct livery - i.e. the application of a white band between the red and blue - so far missing on 625,6 and 7. 617 and 618 are to join 616 on the X3 and this will release 625-7 for normal duties on routes such as 2 and 15 roads.

Not to be outdone Stagecoach are beginning to repaint the three Dennis Lances 901-3 and 903 emerged from the paint shop this afternoon and we include a picture of this bus taken in the late afternoon.

Another Tube has been registered and 32 is now 4012VC. This makes 4 out of 7 of this batch completed.

Finally we have a picture of 516 on the 77 near Brookes University/Wheatley Campus plus two interesting Tube pictures taken on or near the M40.

STOP PRESS

It appears that the first Oxford Tube M A N double deck coaches
are closer and services could begin quite soon.

Further details as they become available.
