Four time World Champion Alain Prost took over Ligier in 1997 to create his own team.
The team was placed into liquidation in January 2002 with debts reportedly around $60 million dollars.
The driver's combination of Trulli and Olivier Panis remains intact through to this season. Panis has been with the team since 1994, winning the Monaco Grand prix of 1996.
