Welcome to my view of Jeff Gordon's 2001 season

Here we are at Daytona for the Daytona 500!! Jeff Gordon has qualified 13^th!! Yeppie glad to see Jeff get the lead for those 5 bonus points!! Way to go Jeff!! Wow too bad Jeff got caught up in the big wreck. At least he came back out and ran some more laps. Jeff finished 22 laps down in 30^th place!! Which means he is now 30^th in the points standings!! Better luck next week at Rockingham!! On a sad note the last lap of the Daytona 500 Dale Earnhardt died. my thoughts and prayers are with the Earnhardt family, friends, and race fans. God sped and may he rest in peace.

Here we are at Rockingham and Jeff has Qualified on the pole!! This is Jeff's 34^th career pole and his first pole of the 2001 season!! Way to go Jeff!! I thought was so awesome that Jeff dropped back during the pace laps to pay tribute to Dale Earnhardt!! Glad to see Jeff got his 5 bonus points right away!! Then the rain came and postponed the race til Monday. Jeff lead some more laps on Monday which gave him 5 more bonus points for the most laps lead!! Way to go Jeff!! Jeff finished 3^rd!! Which moved him from 30^th in the points to 7^th!! Good Luck next week in Las Vegas!!

Here we are at Las Vegas and Jeff has Qualified 24^th!! It was great to Jeff work his way to the front!! Yeppie Jeff got his 5 bonus points!! Way to go!! Jeff finished 1^st!! In his victory lane interview I enjoyed his comment he made: "we're back"!! Jeff moved from 7^th in the points to 2^nd!! Good Luck next week in Atlanta!!

Here we are at Atlanta and Jeff has Qualified 2^nd!! Jeff got his 5 bonus points!! Jeff ran out of gas while leading the race and went a lap down!! Thank goodness he got back on the lead lap!! Jeff also got another 5 bonus points for leading the most laps!! Jeff finished 2^nd!! This is his third straight top 3!! Congrats to Kevin Harvick on his win by 0.006 seconds over Jeff!! What a great photo finish!! Jeff moved from 2^nd in the points to 1^st!! This is the first time Jeff has lead the points since 1999!! Good Luck next week in Darlington!!

Here we are at Darlington and due to a heavy fog NASCAR set the field for the race. So Jeff got the pole position!! Jeff got his 5 bonus points for leading a lap!! Late in the race Jeff started having over heating problems. The Rainbow Warriors tried to fix the problem by adding water and a sealer but that didn't work. Jeff's engine blew any way. Jeff finished 40^th 65 laps down!! Which moved him from first in the points to 4^th in the points!!

Here we are at Bristol and Jeff Has Qualified 15^th!! Yahoo!! It was great to see Jeff get up there and lead the race for those 5 bonus points!! Jeff finished 4^th!! Then on the way into the pits Tony Stewart ran up behind him and hit the back of his car which turned Jeff sideways. When they interviewed Jeff after the race he said "I didn't do anything wrong." Which is the truth. Too bad Tony is such a hot head. Oh well on to the next race!! Jeff did move up in the points from 4^th to 2^nd!! Good Luck at Texas!! I am looking forward to him trackling The Texas Motor Speedway!! Go Jeff Gordon!!

Here we are at Texas and Jeff has Qualified 9^th!! Well shucks no points this week!! Maybe next week we'll get some more bonus points!! Finally here at Texas Jeff had an awesome 5^th place finish!! Yahoo!! Way to go Jeff!! Alright Jeff remains second in the points standings!! I wish you Good Luck at Martinsville!!

Here we are at Martinsville and Jeff has Qualified on the pole!! Way to go Jeff!!! It's Jeff's thrid pole of the season!! I'm glad to see that Jeff got up and lead the race!! So that means he got 5 bonus points!! Jeff's car looked good in the beginning but then faded back. At least he did get to lead for a few laps!! Jeff finished 12^th!! Way to go Jeff and Good Luck at Talladega!!

Here we are at Martinsville and Jeff has Qualified on the pole!! This is his 3^rd pole of the season!! Alright we got our 5 bonus points for leading a lap!! Way to go Jeff!! Jeff is second in the points right now. Jeff finished 12^th!! Good Luck at Talladega!!

Here we are at Talladega and Jeff has Qualified 13th!! Hopefully that is lucky 13!! Yeppie we got our 5 bonus points!! This race went caution free and that was kinda boring. There were a total of 27 different lead changes. Jeff finished 28^th and remains second in the points!! Good Luck at California!!

Here we are at California and Jeff has Qualified 17^th!! We got our 5 bonus points!! Jeff finished 2^nd and still remains second in the points!! Go Jeff Gordon!! Good Luck at Richmond!!

Here we are at Richmond and Jeff has Qualified 6^th!! No bonus points this week so hopefully next week we'll get some more bonus points!! Go Jeff Gordon!! Jeff finished 2^nd again!! Yahoo way to go!! Jeff is still second in the points!! Good Luck at Charlotte!!!!

Here we are at Charlotte for The Winston Select!! I can't believe it they started the race in the rain and wrecked some cars. I was very happy to see NASCAR let them get they backup cars out and race due to the fact they hadn't even made a lap. Besides it's a non-points race and it's an all-star event!! There were only 4 backup cars their names and numbers are: ^#15 Micheal Waltrip, ^#24 Jeff Gordon, ^#29 Kevin Harvick, and ^#99 Jeff Burton. Jeff Burton's team did in engine change during the rain delay which took 34 minutes and 6 seconds!! All of these backup cars had to start at the back of field. Finally after the rain delay they got The Winston Select started!! The Winston Select is three segments. In the first segment Jeff finished 4^th!! Then they have a 10 minute break and when the 10 minute break is almost done they revealed the number of cars to be inverted. The number was 12. So in the second segment Jeff had to start from 9^th place!! Jeff finished 2^nd!! Segment three is a 10 lap shootout for the big money!! In segement three Jeff started from 2^nd!! Yeppie!! What a story Jeff wins with a backup car!!! Jeff is a 3 time winner of The Winston All-Star Event!! He is also tied the late great Dale Earnhardt!! Way to go Jeff Gordon!! Good Luck in the Coca-Cola 600!!

Here we are at Charlotte and Jeff has Qualified 2^nd!! When the second caution came out Jeff did a great job of staying off of Ryan Newman and not getting hit by him either. Way to go Jeff!! We got our 5 bonus points!! Jeff made a pit stop after the 3^rd caution and as Jeff was leaving his pit Kenny Wallace was heading into his pit. It caused some damage on the front of Jeff's car. Jeff's car was awesome until that happened to him. At least he is still second in the points!! Oh well he'll get em next week I hope!! Jeff went on to finish 29^th three laps down!! Good Luck at Dover!!

Here we are at Dover the monster mile!! The field was set by NASCAR due to Qualiying being rained out. So Jeff started 2^nd!! Also NASCAR threw a caution so all the teams could check their tire wear because there was no pratice. We got our 5 bonus points plus another 5 for leading the most laps!! Jeff won the race!! It's his 54^th career win!! He is now tied with Rusty Wallace for most wins among active drivers!! Jeff lead all but 19 laps of this race and is now only 50 points out of first place in the points!!! Yes that means Jeff is still second in the points right now!! Go Jeff Gordon!! Good Luck at Michigan!!

Here we are at Michigan and Jeff has Qualified on the pole!! This is his 3^rd career pole at Michigan and of the season!! We got our 5 bonus points!! Alright we also got another 5 bonus points for leading the most laps!! This is Jeff's 3^rd win of the season!! This is the 100^th win for Hendrick Motor Sports!!Yeppie two wins in a row!! Way to go Jeff Gordon and the Rainbow Warriors!! Jeff has also taken over the points lead by 26 points. Good Luck at Pocono!!

Here we are at Pocono and Jeff has Qualified 14^th!! Yahoo we got our 5 bonus points!! Yes we got another 5 points for leading the most laps!! Jeff finished 2^nd and remains first in the points!! Go Jeff!! Good Luck at Sears Point!!

Here we are at Sears Point and Jeff has Qualified on the pole for the 4^th time!! Way to go Jeff and the Rainbow Warriors!! We got 5 bonus points and we also got another 5 for leading the most laps!! Jeff finished 3^rd!! Jeff still has the points lead!! Good Luck at Daytona!!

Here we are at Daytona and Jeff has Qualified 5^th!! Darn it as luck would have it we got caught up in the big wreck toward the end of the race. Then Jeff had a oil line break and he finished 37^th three laps down!! At least Jeff still has the points lead!! Go Jeff Gordon!! Good Luck at Chicagoland!!

Here we are at Chicagoland and Jeff has Qualified 28^th!! This is a new track this year on the circuit. Well we didn't get to lead a lap. Jeff got as high as 3^rd in the race!! But towards the end of the race Jeff's engine dropped a cyclinder and he finished 17^th the last car on the lead lap!! He is now tied with Dale Jarrett in first. Jeff is in first place due to the fact that he has two better finishes then DJ does. I sure hope that Jeff wins at Loudon and gains a few points on DJ. Go Jeff Gordon!! Good Luck at Loudon!!
