This Torana is a mates original 1970 model LC GTR and after around a year of looking for a 2 door LC/J, this baby popped up for a reasonable price of $3,200. It even had the original hub caps on it, which have since been replaced by a set of rebel mags. He has owned it for around five years now and has since turned it into a street machine which is more than capble of smokin 'em up in the first 3 gears, but also has the problem of attracting a lot of unwanted attention wherever it goes. It is an original GTR and had a blue 202, bored 30 thou, stage 3 yella terra head, Big Xu-1 |

cam, straight cut timing gear, a set of triple 175 Stomburgs. It also has an M22 munchie gearbox and a brass button clutch. Inside is a big autometer tacho with shift light which lights up around 7500 rpm, SAAS racing seats and rpm racing harnesses, half cage, and a shitty little CD player which hardly gets played anyway (whats the point, you cant hear it). Sitting under this baby is a set of lowered king spings and and also a set of koni adjustable shockies. Before he took it off road It was pulling a 15 second quater mile and would hark 'em up in 3rd without any effot at all, but at the moment it is |

resting in the shed ready for a transplant which he's hoping will cut his times down to the 12 second bracket. While it is resting off road a whole fibreglass front end is planned to be put in place, along with a fibreglass bonnet and bootlid, also a full roll cage is ready to be welded in aswell. Countless amount of time and money have gone into this beast, not forgetting the 12 diffs which were snapped and 6 more which were welded up and put back in ( dodgey, but good fun), 5 or six axels went "twang" and more tires than a wrecking yard, but hey, it's all in good fun. After changing all them diffs and axels he decided to upgrade to an 8 & 3/4 inch locker which should beable to hold all the |

grunt from the new "maybe supercharged" donk. The photos i've got on here at the moment aren't the best and they are all a bit old but when it's back on the road i'll get a few decant photos and maybe even a movie of little smokey or two. Well thats my mates torana, now to mine. I have a 4 door LC torana which i've stripped back and am nearly ready to paint, I'm putting the XU-1 flutes and dash into it, and a half cage for now. But it should be ready to go soon and hopefully i'll get some pics of that on here soon, I might even hack a little foot on or two for ya's all to check out. If you want to send me an email just to say g'day or give me some feedback |
