THE GARDEN GATE

One is nearer to God in a garden, than any place else on earth.

Many times I have talked to God while on my hands and knees weeding and planting in my flower garden.  In the spring when I see the new growth pushing it's way up out of the ground, in the summer when my flowers are in full bloom, in the fall when there is a quiet solitude blessed by shades of yellow, orange and brown and in the winter when it is cold and dreary, but yet there is always something blooming.  I find myself thanking him for the sunshine, the breeze, the birds and yes, even the weeds.  For in God's eyes, even the weeds are flowers.  If you're a gardener, you know what I mean and if you are not......then I urge you to plant something.  Even if it is only one plant on the windowsill.  It will change your outlook on life.
