November Home
Learning Project
Recently we wrote
and decorated Halloween rhebus stories in class. A
rhebus story is a story in which specific words are
substituted with pictures. For example:
For your November
project you must write your own rhebus story using
some or all of the pictures I have sent home. You
should try to use each picture at least 3 times in
your story. Your story must be written in booklet
form with an attractive title page. The title must
be written entirely in capitals and you must
include the name of the author. On the inside front
cover you must have a dedication. On the inside
back cover you must include an ALL ABOUT THE AUTHOR
section which must have a photo of the author (YOU)
and brief biography. On the first page of the story
you must include a legend which shows the pictures
and the words they substitute in your story. You do
not need to include additional pictures or
illustrations in your story. However, you may wish
to include borders on the pages and
cover.
Next week I will
post my own rebus story outside the classroom as an
example.
Your project is due
on Thursday November 30, 2000.
Mr.
Moore
P.S. You are
encouraged to do a second rhebus story using your
own pictures (drawn or cut and pasted from the
computer) which you can bring to read to the class
and your kindergarten reading buddy!
