Stupid animal rights activists go into lab to free some monkeys, but a scientist warns them that they are infected. They don’t listen and basically wipe out London. The main guy wakes up out of his coma, he’s naked :?( . He walks around for about a 3 minute scene with various locals around London deserted with no movement. He encounters some zombies and meets up with 2 surviovors. They teach him some survival and if you get infected blood on you, in 10-20 seconds you turn to one of them so you have to be immediately killed. After a few attacks by zombies, they make there way and find a father and daughter. The dad looks like John C. Reilly, but isn’t. They hear a message on the radio and head off to Manchester where the military claims to have found a cure. When they get there, the zombies aren’t the only things they have to be afraid off. This was filmed on a digital cameras, and not the ones George Lucas uses. The picture is grainy and sometimes blurry. It gives it a documentary look. The slow yet steady pace adds tension and suspense. Not as scary as I hoped, other people who saw it were scared, but it didn’t flip my switch. I still enjoyed it. The zombies were scary, but not jump out of your seat scary. With their red eyes and blood on them, them they run after their victims and then hack up blood onto them. Its pretty bloody. A few splashes here and there. The last part I found very exciting. The music guy was mostly good with intense music and soft flowing peaceful music during the calm moments. The ending wasn’t too pleasing, which makes you wonder what the original ending that they had to change because audiences hated it was like. I’ll have to see it again on the 25th to see it after the credits…28 days after initial release. I didn’t love this but it was a worth it. Very well on its $15 million budget. Basically what I thought the Resident Evil movie would be like. GRADE: B + SHOULD YOU SEE THIS: Yes for the non squeamish to blood. |
