Mathematics  

Patterns using different colors **i.e. red apple, yellow apple, red apple, yellow apple, etc.**

Patterns using different shapes **circle, square, circle, square, circle, etc.**

Identifying Shapes **circles, squares, triangles and rectangles** 

 

Writing Activities        

Focus is on making sticks, circles using the correct lines, writing his/her first name and the letter of the week.  In October, there will be more time spent on journal writing activities which encourage the students to begin using "invented" spelling and illustrations.

                                                       

Some of our favorite recipes for this month are...

Crockpot applesauce  - this includes 25 apples (any color), 3 cups of sugar and some red hot candies...simmering in the crockpot  on high for 2-3 hours....it sure does make the classroom smell yummy all day!    

Purple Cow shakes! - this simple recipe combines 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream in a cup with some grape soda ! MOO!
