Real life experiences
- Basic First Aid experiences in Sports, bushwalking and camping, Outdoor education camps, School playgrounds, alpine sports (skiing) and hypothermia, asthma attacks, epilepsy attacks.
Critical incidents
- Twice as a witness to heart attacks (one of which I was closest person and assisted the woman and rang the ambulance).
- Triage - At a camp a hotwater tank exploded, trapping several people under the building damage (we had to organise their extraction from the rubble, treat injuries and shock, organise transport to hospital, and deal with calming and monitoring the other campers who were also in shock.)
- I worked at a 6 day camp for people with epilepsy, and epilepstic attacks were a daily occurance.
